Thymosin Alpha-1

Thymosin Alpha-1 is a 28-residue thymic peptide studied in rodent immune and injury models, and the research catalog lists it at https://onesourcepeptides.com/product/thymosin-alpha-1.

Papers describe Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) as a 28-amino-acid peptide derived from prothymosin α. Shi et al., Brain Research, 2020 (PMID 32738231) report Tα1 effects in a rat blast traumatic-brain-injury model, including cognitive readouts, Treg measures, edema, and tau phosphorylation at Thr205.

Zhang et al., Open Life Sciences, 2023 (PMID 36816800) examine Tα1 alone and with vitamin C in a cecal-ligation-and-puncture septic-rat model, tracking circulating cytokines and immune-cell proportions. Liu et al., Cell Reports Medicine, 2024 (PMID 39357524) study Tα1 with oncolytic adenovirus in mouse solid-tumor models and macrophage cultures, reporting shifts in macrophage polarization and antitumor immune readouts.

Lot identity and purity belong on the certificate of analysis for the vial in hand—see Are research peptides third-party tested?. Thymosin Alpha-1 on the catalog is laboratory research supply only. This note is not dosing, reconstitution, or human-use guidance.

  1. TB-500

TB-500 is a catalog name for thymosin beta-4–related research material; the certificate of analysis decides whether the vial is the full protein or a short actin-binding fragment.

  2. SS-31

SS-31 is a mitochondria-targeted synthetic tetrapeptide studied for cardiolipin binding at the inner mitochondrial membrane, and the research catalog lists it at https://onesourcepeptides.com/product/ss-31.

  3. Receptor binding assays in peptide research

A receptor-binding paper reports how tightly a ligand occupies a named receptor in a defined assay, which is not a statement about human use.
