Accessibility Statement
Residue Notes wants every note to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or high-contrast settings.
Our commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
Measures taken
- Every page declares its language (
lang="en"). - A "Skip to content" link is the first focusable element on each page.
- Visible keyboard focus outlines on links, buttons, and controls.
- Text and link colors chosen for WCAG AA contrast.
- Semantic headings, landmarks (header, main, footer, labeled navigation), and descriptive link text.
- Images carry alt text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- The cookie banner is keyboard-operable and labeled for screen readers.
- Layouts reflow on small screens and at 200% zoom.
Known limitations
- Some older notes cite external PDFs and journal pages that we do not control and that may not be accessible.
- Data tables in a few notes may be hard to read on very narrow screens; we are reworking them.
