Kisspeptin-10 (GPR54 Agonist)

Kisspeptin-10 is the biologically active C-terminal decapeptide of the KiSS-1 gene product and a potent agonist of the GPR54 (KISS1R) receptor, studied as the upstream switch that drives GnRH release and LH and FSH secretion in rodent and sheep models, and the research catalog lists it at https://onesourcepeptides.com/product/kisspeptin-10.

The receptor match came first. Kotani et al., Journal of Biological Chemistry, 2001 (PMID 11457843) isolated the 54-, 14- and 13-amino-acid kisspeptins from human placenta, showed they bind rat and human GPR54 with low nanomolar affinity, and traced downstream signaling through PIP2 hydrolysis, calcium mobilization and ERK1/2 and p38 MAP kinase phosphorylation. Strong GPR54 expression in placenta, pituitary, pancreas and spinal cord pointed straight at endocrine control.

Mouse work then placed the decapeptide in the reproductive axis. Gottsch et al., Endocrinology, 2004 (PMID 15217982) gave kisspeptin-54 and kisspeptin-10 into the lateral cerebral ventricle and found both stimulated LH secretion, an effect blocked by the GnRH antagonist acyline, and mapped KiSS-1 mRNA to the anteroventral periventricular, periventricular and arcuate nuclei of the hypothalamus. In rats, Navarro et al., Endocrinology, 2005 (PMID 15375028) reported potent LH release after both central and systemic administration, with evidence for action at the hypothalamus and at the pituitary.

The direct GnRH link closed the loop. Messager et al., PNAS, 2005 (PMID 15665093) showed GPR54 transcripts colocalize with GnRH neurons in the mouse hypothalamus, that peripheral kisspeptin drives robust LH and FSH release in wild-type mice but has no effect in GPR54 knockout mice, and that central kisspeptin in sheep produces a dramatic release of GnRH into cerebrospinal fluid with a parallel rise in serum LH. That result defines GPR54 as a major control point of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.

Lot identity and purity belong on the certificate of analysis for the vial in hand. See Are research peptides third-party tested?. Kisspeptin-10 on the catalog is laboratory research supply only. This note summarizes published cell and animal research and is not dosing, reconstitution, or human-use guidance.

  1. Selank

Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide tuftsin analog studied in rodent anxiety and GABA-binding models, and the research catalog lists it at https://onesourcepeptides.com/product/selank.

  2. CJC-1295

CJC-1295, in this catalog, is the name on a co-lyophilized research listing of modified GRF(1–29) without a drug-affinity complex plus ipamorelin, at https://onesourcepeptides.com/product/cjc-1295-no-dac-5mg-plus-ipamorelin-5mg.

  3. Are research peptides third-party tested?

A research peptide is third-party tested only when that lot's certificate of analysis names an outside laboratory; a note that a certificate is available on request is not itself a posted test.
